GPS/GNSS Equipment

Survey-grade satellite positioning accurate to centimeters. The backbone of modern land surveying across Florida.

About GPS/GNSS Equipment

Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) have transformed land surveying, enabling precise positioning anywhere in Florida without the need for direct line-of-sight between points. Our survey-grade GNSS equipment delivers centimeter-level accuracy by receiving signals from multiple satellite constellations.

Modern GNSS receivers track signals from GPS (USA), GLONASS (Russia), Galileo (Europe), and BeiDou (China)—over 100 satellites in total. This multi-constellation capability ensures strong satellite geometry and reliable positioning even in challenging Florida environments with tree cover or buildings.

Real-Time Kinematic (RTK) technology takes GNSS further by using correction signals from base stations to achieve 1-2 cm accuracy in real-time. Whether we're setting property corners, establishing construction control, or mapping topography, GNSS provides the foundation for accurate, efficient surveys.

Key Capabilities

Advanced features that set our gps/gnss equipment apart

Multi-Constellation Tracking

Track 100+ satellites across 4 major GNSS constellations for reliable positioning in challenging environments like urban areas and tree canopy.

Real-Time Kinematic (RTK)

Achieve centimeter accuracy in real-time using local base stations or network RTK services. Know your position instantly.

All-Day Battery Life

Extended battery capacity for full-day field operations. Hot-swappable batteries keep you working without downtime.

Rugged Construction

IP68-rated equipment built for Florida conditions—rain, humidity, dust, and drops. Works reliably in harsh field environments.

Benefits for Your Project

How gps/gnss equipment delivers value to Florida property owners, developers, and engineers.

Faster Surveys

Collect accurate positions in seconds instead of minutes. GNSS dramatically accelerates boundary, topographic, and construction surveys.

No Line-of-Sight Needed

Unlike total stations, GNSS doesn't require visibility between points. Survey across hills, through vegetation, and around obstacles.

Consistent Accuracy

Achieve uniform centimeter accuracy across your entire project, regardless of traverse length or accumulated errors.

Single-Person Crews

One surveyor with a GNSS rover can accomplish what previously required a two-person crew with conventional equipment.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about gps/gnss equipment

How accurate is GPS surveying?

Survey-grade GNSS with RTK corrections achieves horizontal accuracy of ±1-2 cm and vertical accuracy of ±2-3 cm. This meets or exceeds requirements for boundary surveys, construction staking, and topographic mapping in Florida.

Does GPS work under tree cover?

Modern multi-constellation receivers work much better under canopy than older equipment, but heavy tree cover can still challenge GNSS. We use total stations for heavily vegetated areas or combine methods—GNSS in open areas and conventional techniques under trees.

What is RTK and why does it matter?

RTK (Real-Time Kinematic) uses correction signals from a nearby base station to achieve centimeter accuracy in real-time. Without RTK, standalone GNSS is only accurate to a few meters. RTK is essential for survey-grade positioning.

Can you survey on cloudy days?

Yes! Unlike some remote sensing, GNSS works in all weather conditions including rain, clouds, and fog. Satellite signals penetrate the atmosphere regardless of weather. We survey year-round in all Florida conditions.
