Survey Cost & Scope Planner

Tell us what the job is and we'll show you the scope your Florida survey quote gets built from — plus the published rates behind it. It won't guess a total; it shows you what the price is made of.

Nothing here is multiplied into a price. These are the facts a surveyor needs before quoting.

A ballpark, not a price

These are computer-generated averages — a rough guide only, never a quote, and not something Apex Surveying & Mapping is bound by. For a real price, please just send us your details.

Typical residential lot: 0.15 - 0.5 acres. Florida survey work is priced by scope and hours, not by the acre — your parcel size is recorded as scope information, not multiplied by a per-acre rate.

Scheduling only — we don't publish a rush premium.

Calculator FAQs

Does this tool give me a price?
No, and no honest tool can. It builds the scope summary a surveyor prices from — survey type, parcel size, county and urgency — and shows the published Florida labour rates the work draws on. It cannot see your parcel count, site access, vegetation, travel distance, or how much corner monumentation still exists, and each of those moves the real price. Send us the address for an actual quote.
What actually sets the price of a Florida survey?
The work it takes: boundary research, fieldwork, recovering or establishing the applicable property corners, marking the accessible corners, and preparing a signed and sealed survey. On top of that, the number of parcels, the scope, the location, site access, vegetation, travel, and how much existing monumentation survives on the ground all move the number. Published Florida government contracts for 2024-2026 put a two-person survey crew at $129.80-$281.00 per hour and a licensed surveyor at $135.99-$382.97 per hour (source: negotiated rates in Florida city, county, special-district and FDOT contracts, 2024-2026). What your project needs of those hours is what sets its price. These are general ranges rather than quotes — parcel count, scope, access, vegetation, travel, and existing monumentation all affect the final price.
Does South Florida cost more than the rest of the state?
Not as a rule, and this tool no longer assumes it does. An earlier version of this tool added a flat percentage for South Florida counties; that figure was never sourced, and the published Florida contract record does not support a fixed regional premium in that direction. Location does affect a survey — through travel, site access, local records, and how much corner monumentation survives in older platted neighbourhoods — but it is judged per project, not applied as a county percentage.
Does a bigger parcel automatically cost more?
Bigger parcels usually mean more work — more corners to recover or establish, more ground to cover, more vegetation — but that is the work driving the price, not the acreage itself. Florida public survey contracts are priced by scope and hours, not by the acre, so this tool records your parcel size as scope information for your quote rather than multiplying it by a per-acre rate.
How do I get an exact price?
Send us the property address and what the survey is for. We can look up your specific parcel, assess access and complexity, and quote it. The quote is free and there is no obligation.
Are there any hidden fees?
No. The quote you accept covers the work described in it — field work, office research, drafting, certification, and a sealed copy of the survey. If we find something during fieldwork that changes the scope, such as a corner that has to be re-established or an area we cannot access, we come back to you before doing the extra work, not after.
